French artist Hélène Depotte presents her solo exhibitionMythologies at Gagliardi Art System. The exhibition comprises a large-size installation, designed especially for the spaces of our gallery (Théatre de papier: la marque de Zorro), and a series of drawings that explore the idea of myth, revisited and rethought in the light of an individual, unique re-reading.

As the artist says: “Théatre de papier ” is a liminal, suspended space. It is a place that gives you the illusion of being “beyond” boundaries: you enter a world, a narration, which never stops to be woven from the moment you look at the theater and become a spectator and - why not? - even a hero. The “Theater” forces you to physically take sides.

There is no one reading key for interpreting a myth, and there will never be. “Théatre de papier” does not suggest any. It only exists to respond to a request of spectators. What it reveals can be big or insignificant, depending on the question that was asked.”

The exhibition also creates an interaction between the works of Hélène Depotte and those of Glaser /Kunz, J&Peg, Ralf Kaspers, and Daniele D’Acquisto.
