Graphic Studio Gallery exhibits over 30 works of art from the Bo Halbirk Studio’s stable of artists. Bo Halbirk Studio, rue du Chemin Vert, Paris 11ème was founded in 1992 by the well-known Danish printmaker, Bo Halbirk. He was accompanied by a group of artist-engravers whom he had met at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, becoming the very core of the workshop’s founding members.

Like Graphic Studio Dublin, these founding members invited other artists to join, thus broadening and enriching the studio. Since then, under Halbirk’s direction, it has become a centre for professional traditional and experimental printmaking. Artists from Japan, South America, Australia, the U.S.A. and Europe all come regularly to work in the studio and to exchange projects and ideas.

The Bo Halbirk Studio has organised numerous exhibitions in France and throughout Europe, however, we are delighted to host their first show in Ireland since the studio’s inception.

This exhibition brings to Ireland an international exhibition of contemporary prints by fifteen studio members of nine different nationalities together with a collection of artists’ books. Following the exhibition in Graphic Studio Gallery, the show will tour to Belfast Print Workshop Gallery, Cotton Court, 30-42 Waring St., Belfast, from 1 – 31 May 2014. The French Embassy in Dublin kindly sponsors these two exciting exhibitions.
