The warehouse as a diary of private notes, a place of special evocations...

The warehouse as the geography of conservation: which does not mean isolation, to be clear, but to preserve for the right time, for that breaking out in exhibition where the slow time of the work of art is given live space.

There are various ways of seeing the storeroom of the art gallery: for Italo Bergantini it has always been a dynamic extension of the exhibition rooms, a secret cave in which to show brave installations, unusual combinations, and to test the borders. Today, that warehouse enters the gallery and confirms its nature as a living landscape, a figurative geography that overlays linguistic experiences, themes and content, clutter and supports that are never definitive.

Where the warehouse becomes landscape, the work begins to show the multiple natures of the modern landscape, evoking dreamlike visions, urban realism, peripheries and centers, past and present, near and far... the gallery owner’s eye moved in the deposits like a zoom that was probing and selecting where necessary, until an exhibition took shape, and revealed itself in its expressive organism. Painting, photography, drawing and sculpture are all amalgamated in the game of recollections and contrasts, the different visual sounds are at the service of complexity, creating a mental journey that leads the world out of the warehouse, to the "inside" of the gallery, where your glance will give an interior location to each individual piece.
