Michael Alford was born in 1958 and grew up in England and Germany. After gaining a degree in modern Arabic and Spanish at the University of Durham, he trained at the Slade School and Chelsea School of Art before launching a successful career as a muralist and figurative painter, best known for his closely observed and sensitive evocations of contemporary life. Taking the human form as its central subject, Michael's varied body of work includes portraits, nudes and groups of figures. His acclaimed land and cityscapes provide a context for exploring the way figures interact with natural and manmade environments. Michael's paintings and murals are widely collected and can be found in public and private collections worldwide. His clients include Trust House Forte, Claridge's Hotel and the Royal Family of Saudi Arabia. He is also regularly commissioned as a portraitist of solo subjects and groups and in 2010, he accompanied the 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards to Afghanistan as an official war artist.

Judith Green was born in London and lives and works in Cornwall. She studied at Kingston School of Art and the Slade School of Fine Art. The sense of place and personal historical memory have always been intrinsic to Judith’s practice. In her new body of work she realigns these key themes from the wide openness of landscapes to the intimate setting of her own home. As viewers we are invited to become ‘watchers’, we encounter figures caught in the reflection of a mirror or moving between rooms, tightly framed by a landscape of domesticity. Echoing her background in graphic design, and working from direct observation, Judith uses drawing to inquire into the compositional forces of the painting. Softer seated scenes are contrasted by faceted doorways that form axes around which the figures navigate, their postures and movements suggesting and revealing unspoken narratives.

Bill Bate was born in Liverpool in 1962 and having shown an interest in painting from an early age, he went on to study at the prestigious Central Saint Martins School of Art in London, where he gained his fine art degree . It was here that he developed the knowledge and understanding of his practice. It was also here that he was encouraged to develop a more abstract style that can be seen in his work today. His atmospheric paintings focus both on the uses of dramatic lighting and above all on the human form and are emotional responses to the body in movement, at rest, and the body observed. Bate's work has a broad range of influences from Caravaggio to Alma Tadema and Rothko.

Oisín Roche studied at Dun Laoghaire College of Art. He has held solo shows at Adams Autionerrs, The Molesworth Gallery, Kevin Kavanagh Gallery, Dublin Writers Museum and Guinness Gallery, as well as participating in group shows at The Molesworth Gallery and Solomon Gallery. He has regularly exhibited at the RHA Annual Exhibition since 1990. In 2008 he was included in the BP Portrait Exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery London, and was short listed for the Davy Portrait Awards 2010 for his portrait of John Waters, the Author and Journalist.

After studying painting at Glasgow School of Art in the late eighties Steven Lindsay embarked on a successful career in the Music industry. As a recording artist he released albums for Virgin, Warner brothers and EMI. In 2005 and 2007 his solo albums were lauded by the Sunday Times, Guardian, Telegraph and the Independent amongst others. By this time Steven had already returned to Art School to study life drawing and was painting on a regular basis. He was soon winning Art prizes and in 2010 was short-listed for ’The Aspect prize’, Scotland’s most prestigious painting award. He is now a full time painter. His work sees a traditional painting style, mostly figurative given a contemporary narrative by using space and light as a backdrop to his mostly solitary figures. His painting style engages the viewer to make a connection with the Art of the past as well as the present, with the emphasis on composition, structure and craft.
