Valery Koroshilov, award-winning Russian figurative painter based in London, presents his stunning new collection. Seeking to capture an instant, Valery draws on gestures and moments of real life situations from a laugh or a glance to happy times by the seaside.

Winner of the Artist of The Year Award 2010, Valery is a London-based Russian painter who exhibits internationally. Combining an architectural training with twenty years of experience in large-scale decorative oil painting and portraiture, he focuses on bespoke private and corporate commissions.

Primarily interested in Human Figure and Portraiture, Valery believes his interest in the human form is more intuitive than analytical, a visceral response to character, stance, light and colour. He produces a museum-quality oil paintings with a strong contemporary touch. The work is featured in art collections around the world.

After the Artists & Illustrators' Award Valery received a Merit Award in the USA (ArtKudos International Competition 2011). For almost two years he worked on a private commission in Paris, where 18 paintings and a sculptural bas-relief had been created in collaboration with the architect for a site-specific project, a villa in Neuilly-sur-Seine. For the same client a portrait has just been completed, which is featured in the British Vogue, June 2013.

Currently Valery is working on two interesting projects. One is a portrait of the English actress Emilia Fox with her daughter Rose, and another one, at an early stage and again in Paris, of a celebrated French writer of the Russian origin - Andrei Makine, the winner of the Prix Goncourt and Prix Medicis.
